Peterson vs. Khan II CANCELLED

So as I’m sure a lot of you have already heard Peterson vs. Khan II is cancelled. Everything about these two guys since the first fight have been controversial to the end. The fight that was scheduled for March 19th has been cancelled due to Peterson testing positive for synthetic testosterone, a banned substance.

Peterson’s camp has said that the only reason they used the substance was because of Peterson’s “medical condition”. Even if that is true, why use a substance that you know is banned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission? I’m very tired of these types of incidents— fighters trying to get an edge up. The fight was a week away and now after all the promo and fans buying tickets, the fight is off. And it was Peterson’s idea to do random blood testing in the first place. So he failed at his own game.

Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions has put out a statement saying,

“We are now in discussions with HBO and looking at July 7 or July 14, one of those two dates. I am waiting to hear back from HBO, but I will sit down with Amir on Thursday and we’ll talk about opponents.”

What do you think about all of this?
