Well I just found out Ortiz is going to be fighting Josesito Lopez on June 23rd. Honestly don’t know that much about the guy but I heard from other people that it should be an ok fight—- obviously not what anyone wanted but hopefully it’s not terrible. As far as Cotto. I don’t see anyone else for him to fight. He fought Mayweather— got the highest purse of his career and he’s pretty much fought all the best guys out there right now. He might do one or two more fights (according to Bleacher Report, he’s trying to return by the end of this year) but in all honesty, I think his career is past it’s peak. He’s a great fighter and I’ve always liked him but I think it’s time for him to say farewell and there’s nothing wrong with that. I just hope he doesn’t stay in too long.

As far as Alvarez it seems like they are trying to strike a deal with him against Paul Williams in September. And I’m sure people would rather see him take on another opponent but he’s still moving up the ladder. I don’t want Alvarez to turn into Fernando Vargas— a guy who gave a lot of promise, but because of bad management his team helped ruin his career by hyping him up too early and putting him with guys he wasn’t quite ready for. So if he wants to prove that he deserves a shot with the best… he’ll take this fight.
